Components - Storage
Performance and Comfort - Lots of Storage!

The cobra is not a big car, and well known that there is little storage in them. The ability to add storage, making longer rides more comfortable, is limited...but, we pushed that limit to the max. Your typical cobra has storage in the trunk, and the passenger seat, unless you have a passenger, and possibly the doors. You might be able to slip a jacket behind the seat, but that's it as far as storage goes. What we did was increase storage in two areas. And, since the car is both 4" wider and longer than the original cobra, we also have more room to work with.

If you could ask for more storage, you'd want increased storage in both the cockpit as well as in the trunk...viola, this builder is the best, and any wish is his command. In the cabin, he has added a shelf that sits under the rollbar, spanning the width of the car, that is about 10" tall and 10" deep at the center front. This space tapers off as it goes back, and tapers off slightly as it nears the side of the car. This is a large storage area. And, to make it less obvious to people passing by, he had a custom black vinyl flap made with access zippers for both driver and passenger.

I also had custom billet swivel cup holders mounted in the side of the transmission hump. When these flip out, they hold the accompanying tumbler mugs, and when not in use, they tuck neatly away.

The cabin also has two huge elastic vinyl door pouches. These door storage areas actually hold quite a bit, and are most convenient to access, even when driving.

The trunk was enlarged on both sides, creating quite a bit of room for a cobra trunk. In fact, I've had my golf clubs in the trunk...a must, right ;) It's not spacious, but definitely large enough to hold a few travel bags. I also had some nets put down to better hold things in place. The battery sits off to the side in the trunk and has a cover which keeps it out of sight. It also has a quick disconnect on it to save the battery if desired. On the top of the trunk lid, near the front is a billet mount for the lid support rod to securely sit within, allowing ease of use on trunk access. The keyhole to unlock the trunk is near the license plate.
