Safety First
You will immediately notice that this is not your typical rollbar. This one will actually protect you should some unfortunate accident happen. I had both heard and read how the old single hoop rollbars would sometimes fold down during a crash...not good at all. This one has lots of steel, tied directly to the frame - protection for BOTH, the driver and the passenger.
The rollbar took, well, it took a LOT of time, but perfection doesn't come easy. First, there is the physical construction, an ovalized rollbar, made by wrapping steel around two solid circular rollbars. The hard part was constructing a compartment at the top, passenger side. This compartment houses a radar detector, one that is mounted at the highest point in the car, unobstructed...can we say EFFECTIVE. After a number of trials, the end product was finally produced and chromed.
We physically spoke with the guys at Valentine One, and they were excited, saying that we'd have 40% better detection mounting it like that, versus a typical car windshield mount.
Again...very happy, very safe, and very effective.
Oh, I nearly forgot - being all about safety, we added a very low profile 3rd brake light within the rollbar. The insurance companies like this, and it makes us more visible, and actually looks pretty cool. There is also a screw mount that was added to the bottom center of the rollbar, planning for the future in case one day a car camera wanted to be added.
