It's Good To Know What's On The Road
Year after year, the best radar detector is Valentine One. I remember when Mike Valentine split off from Escort and started his own company...I was one of his early customers then, and have been a number of times since. It is an excellent radar detector, all bands - Car & Driver always rates it at the top.
Besides detecting the number of sources, the direction it is coming from, and the strength of the radar, the Valentine One also has the ability to have remote pieces. There is both an optional display component and an optional audio component. I have both of these in the car. The display is mounted in the dash for ease of viewing as well as being very inconspicuous. The audio portion is setup right behind the drivers seat, where it can be best heard, and if desired, I usually put an earpiece in it.
It is quite effective, and a real must when traveling up and down some of ourlocal highways, like Interstate 5. I explain some of the mounting characteristics under the rollbar section.
