Made From Scratch
With the car averaging 4 inches wider and longer than the standard sized cobra, a custom body was needed. Many years ago, the builder created such a body. However, at that time, he decided to make a stronger and more durable body than the typical fiberglass body. He did some research, and found that the material used for aircrafts would suit his needs perfectly...yup, vinyl ester ceramic composite. It was much harder to work with, but the results are worth the extra work.
My body cured in the sun for almost a year before in came indoors and set for another year before it eventually made its way to paint. The body is solid, very durable, and looks great! Another feature of the body, on the doors, is a 600lb rated hinge, which was found to make the door closure much more durable and consistent.
